In our world, weekends are for finishing up big projects and having fun! We enjoy spending time at the zoo (but always park on the street: Save the Greensward!), The Dixon Gallery and Gardens, and our own backyard.
Like clockwork, Buttercup comes to bother us first thing each morning like she's starving. She has full bowls of both food and water, but will duck under our feet and cry until we give her kitty cat treats. She's ornery and mean and I adore her.
You'll never see Echo happier than she is when she first wakes up. She smiles huge, reaches for you and laughs and plays while we change and dress her. She plays with her toys while her dad and I get ready. I drink my coffee, turn on some Netflix and paint if I can manage. Her pack 'n' play is in my studio and sometimes I catch her watching me while I work. That is life.
Last weekend, I spent my entire Saturday at Memphis College of Art as a volunteer. It was fun being there to meet the wonderful folks who picked out my work to take home with them! I've never seen anything like it and am still in disbelief at how much I sold.
