As most of you know, my day job is at Memphis College of Art as the Community Education Associate. Almost every week, my coworkers and I brainstorm new program ideas to benefit the Memphis community and engage with artists of all ages across the region.
We are so happy to announce that one of the ideas we had last week was to open our doors to families and offer free(!) family art workshops. To my knowledge, we have never offered anything like this before and I am so stoked to be a part of putting this program into motion and making it a reality.
The workshops are free and open to the public (although donations to go toward our youth scholarship fund will be accepted) and they meet the first Saturday of each month (some exceptions) from 2 pm to 4 pm at Memphis College of Art-Rust Hall.
I will be leading the first in the workshop series- Collaborative Abstract Painting with Chloe York on Saturday, Sept. 3rd. Event page can be found here.
